FRIENDS TO KEEP YOU WARM
Recently, I got invited to this event titled ‘Friends To Keep You Warm – An Exhibition’ by my über-talented illustrator friend Izziyana Suhaimi, or Izzi for short. Needless to say, I hightailed it down to Ann Siang Hill as soon as I got a free day from schoolwork and other such mundane activities that one has to deal with. Held at the little dröm store, the exhibition featured an array of Izzi’s special mixed media (illustration and embroidery) drawings.
What I really love about these drawings are the intricate details which Izzi manages to capture with her black felt pen. Adding embroidery to her illustrations a great technique to bring more dimension to her illustrations and also to make them stand out from the boring pen-and-paper crowd.
